Satellite Subsystem Automated Design

چکیده

This paper will study various approaches to the automated design problem. It will begin with an overview of current state of the art in automated design, show examples of existing applications, determine current limitations and capabilities, explore potential applications to automating the design of spacecraft subsystems, determine difficulties towards achieving this and make recommendations as to how to overcome them. It will also explore whether/how standards should/could be developed to encourage further development in this field. For example standards for the specification of design components will encourage the development of a repository of spacecraft component models and standards for the development of the various components of the automated design framework could encourage sharing of the framework components thus allowing researchers and engineers to build ever more capable frameworks. Finally, this paper will conclude with recommendations for further research.
